The ACTIVE TRx5210AN DUAL 10-INCH LINE ARRAY element is a trapezoidal design that provides smooth, mid-field projection. Its advanced design evolving from Carvin’s previous models offers extended high frequency resolution with a new PurePath™ wave-guide lens, 3-inch voice coil, and 1.5-inch exit HF driver. The low-end performance is provided by two Neodymium 10-inch transducers. The ALL DSP™ with FIR filtering enhances vocals and instruments offering crystal-clear, natural acoustics right out of the box with no special turning required. Up to 130 dB with 100º horizontal distribution offers high level projection for large audiences.
DSP and remote access is handled by ALL DSP™ software, which is fully tunable through its Ethernet™ network port. A host of features including EQ, delay, polarity, ect. can be remotely uploaded. Settings may be stored for specific venues. The network also connects to the TRx5118AF sub for a full system network. The powerful CLASS D 1000W & 550W amplifiers provide extra headroom. They are 97%, efficient, allowing up to 4 elements per 120VAC 20A circuit. 2 female/male AC POWERX™ connectors daisy chain up to 4 elements to one 20A 120VAC circuit with only 4 circuits required for 1 side of 12 elements. 2 audio XLR connectors (female/male) daisy chain to all elements. 2 Ethernet ports daisy chain to all elements allowing for only one network cable run from the array to the router. Easy deployment for live events or installations comes from the multi-angle rear center bar that adjusts in 1º steps up to 10º. 4 to 12 elements per side are recommended for flying applications. Ground stack up to 4 elements on the TRx5118AF for smaller venues.
The tour-grade enclosure features premium multi-ply hardwood to ensure the enclosure’s strength while maintaining its long-life integrity. The self-aligning hardware is designed for easy setups. The built-in clear vinyl rain fly offers continuous protection for the interface controls and connectors. The heavy-duty powder-coated perforated steel grill provides driver protection while the recessed handles offer correct center balancing.
Ingress Weather Protection IP45 rating is standard on the TRx5210AN line array. The thick DURATEX™ polyurethane outer skin provides UV and moisture protection. The TS10N-8 offers a cone with a moisture resistant coating. The grill is treated to prevent water damage and the rear amp panel features a rain hood and watertight AC connections. Optional rain box is available providing complete protection for permanent outdoor installations.
ACCESSORIES: The CV5210-4 Slip Cover offers scratch and moisture protection for 4 elements while connected to the DB521018 Transport Dolly with Quick Release Pin connectivity between each element and the dolly so everything is secure. The same dolly is designed for 2 TRx5118AF subs with Quick Release Pins between subs and dolly. 2 of the 5-inch transport casters are lockable. The heavy-duty TRx5000FLY Hanging Fly Bumper supports up to 12 elements per side with extra safety margin. The TRx5210RAINBOX provides complete protection for permanent outdoor installations.

The Line Array Advantage
The line array advantage is achieved by the 0 degree coupling of the enclosures in the array. The inherent advantage of a line array design allows the rear audience to hear nearly the same levels as the front. The PurePath™ horn produces a tight 10 degree vertical x 100 degree horizontal pattern on a single cabinet. Conventional enclosures drop 6dB when doubling the distance to the listener. However, when coupled in a line array this pattern narrows further to produce the line array effect, which drops only 3dB when doubling the distance to the listener.
When the straight line of the line array is broken as in the case of a “J” curve, the elements curved at the bottom of the array behave more as a “point source” loudspeaker producing normal output to the closer listeners.
The TRx5210AN can be deployed in a full curvilinear array with up to 10 degrees of angle between elements in 1 degree steps. This allows for a smooth “point source” array when using multiple elements.
The PurePath™ Horn Lens and dual 10” Neodymium Drivers
The PurePath™ Horn Lens is designed to provide a very smooth, equal path length wave guide for pure, natural and cylindrically projected highs. The 3-inch compression driver features a 3-inch exit and a 1.5” voice coil. The PurePath™ Horn Lens places the HF driver in proper phase alignment with the 10-inch drivers.

Safety Notes on Rigging – Important Please Read!
- The Carvin SureFly™ rigging system has been designed and constructed to a high standard of safety and tested in the most demanding conditions. As a first concern to ensure the highest safety standards, the information following on the safe use of rigging accessories must be carefully understood and followed. Every user that operates, suspends or lifts a TRx5210AN loudspeaker system needs to be properly trained before ever constructing and deploying the system in a working situation.
- Only use Carvin recommended rigging accessories, which are specifically designed for their intended purpose. Do not use Carvin SureFly™ rigging with other types or brands of loudspeakers. This practice may compromise safety standards and Carvin will not be responsible for damage or injury as a result.
- Do not modify the rigging accessories or use them in any other way than described in this user manual. Rigging components supplied as part of a complete assembly are non-interchangeable and must not be exchanged with the component parts of any other assembly.
- The component parts of the Carvin SureFly™ rigging accessory must only be assembled using the fasteners and methods of assembly recommended in this manual. The use of fasteners and methods of assembly not specified or approved by Carvin may result in an unsafe rigging assembly. Welding or any other means of permanently fixing rigging components to each other or to cabinet fixing points should never be done. Making any modifications will void the warranty.
- Rigging assemblies must only be assembled using the appropriate parts and fixings as specified in this manual using the specific mounting instructions. Rigging components or assemblies must only be fixed to Carvin loudspeaker cabinets using the cabinet fixing points.
- Walls, floors or ceilings must be capable of load bearing capacity. When mounting rigging components on walls, floors or ceilings, ensure that all fixings and fasteners used are of an appropriate size and load rating. Wall and ceiling claddings and the construction and composition of walls and ceilings all need to be taken into account when determining whether a particular fixing arrangement can be safely employed for a particular load. Cavity plugs or other specialist fixings, if required, must be of an appropriate type and must be fitted and used in accordance with the makers instructions. Use only the rigging accessory fixing holes indicated in this manual and the specific mounting instructions to fix Carvin SureFly™ rigging accessories to walls, floors or ceilings.
- Where specified, the recommended maximum torque settings for screw fasteners must be strictly complied with.

Best practice dictates in addition to the principle load bearing means of suspension, that all loudspeakers flown in theaters, studios or other places of work and entertainment should (and where local laws apply) be provided with an independent, properly rated and securely attached secondary means of safety. Only steel wire ropes or steel chains of an approved construction and load rating may be used as secondary safeties. Plastic covered steel wire ropes are not permitted for use as secondary safeties.

Carefully inspect rigging components and cabinets for defects or signs of damage before proceeding to assemble a flown array. If any parts are damaged or look suspect, DO NOT USE.
Safety legislation and test and inspection requirements will vary from country to country. In most cases, annual independent test and inspection by a suitably approved and qualified inspector will be required. Carvin recommends regular safety inspections and further recommends keeping a logbook detailing the test and inspection history of each Carvin rigging component. Always wear protective head wear, footwear, and eye protection in accordance with local regulations. Anyone involved in flying ANY sound system, especially in a touring capacity, should take note of the following advice:
“The rigging of a flown sound system may be dangerous unless undertaken by qualified personnel with the required experience and certification to perform the necessary tasks. For ground suspension verify that the Genie™ lift or similar lift is level in both directions, or the array will not hang properly. Fixing of hanging points in a roof should always be carried out by a professional rigging specialist and in accordance with the local rules of the venue. The house rigger and/or building manager must always be consulted.”

Assembling an Array
Assembly and deployment of TRx5210AN arrays are carried out in pre assembled groups of 4 array modules.
Attach the TRx5000FLY to the top array enclosure. Each subsequent enclosure can be pinned at different angles to accomplish wide vertical coverage angles and focus sound energy where needed.

Installing the TRx5000FLY Attach the TRx5000FLY to the top array enclosure using the quick release pins that are attached to the TRx5210AN line array. There are two attachment points on the front and one in the rear. Use the quick release pin attached to the TRx5000FLY to connect the rear of the TRx5210AN line array.
There are two attachment points on the front. One on each side of the array. These points slide between the inner and outer side bars of the TRx5000FLY.

Installing the shackle
Attach rated 5/8” shackle to lug #3. Note: this position sets a basic starting point for a straight vertical hang.

Adding additional enclosures
Attach a rated chain motor or hoist hook to the shackle. Using the chain motor or hoist, lift assembly up to clear another array module. Place an array module(s) underneath the first array module assembly and lower suspended array module. As you are lowering, align the suspension points of the two units being connected and insert the quick release pin to secure the enclosures together. Connect the rear bar of the two enclosures using the quick release pin in the hole of the desired angle.
TRx52010ANFLY Suspension Hang Points
For a 0° straight hang use shackle hole #3 on the TRx5000FLY. When a downward angle of 24° is required, use shackle hole #4. Shackle holes #1, 2, 5 and 6 are only used when a 2-point hang is required. By using two hang points and two chain motor hoists, the angle of the array can be changed by raising or lowering the front or back of the array by adjusting the chain motors. This requires the use of a second shackle as shown in the diagram below.
For ground suspension verify that the Genie™ lift or similar is level in both directions, or the array will not hang properly.

The optional steel DB521018 Transport Dolly Board allows a block of up to four TRx5210AN speaker cabinets or two TRx5118AF subwoofers to be conveniently transported in a pre-rigged configuration and is recommended as the most efficient way to truck and handle the cabinets. The transport dolly board is designed to connect the line array elements and or subwoofers to the transport frame using the QPTRx quick pin connectors which secures the shipment of your sound system during transport. The DB521018 comes with 5-inch caster wheels. Two wheels come with locks to keep the transport dolly in place.
TRx5210AN Active Module and Settings
The active TRx5210AN biamp module is driven by ALL DSP™ processing with optimized presets for arrays and ground stacks. Crossover filters, Parametric EQ, Alignment Delay and Amp Limiters are factory tuned to maximize performance output.

LIMIT LED

The AC IN water resistant connector accepts the POWERX™ male connector (part# RAC3M). One power cord with the RAC3M connector is supplied.

AC OUT CONNECTOR IP65 (POWERX™ RCAC3F FEMALE OUT) The AC OUT connector accepts the POWERX™ RCAC3F female connector (part# RCAC3F), and is used to power other units. A maximum of 4 TRX5210AN can be connected to one 20A circuit. The maximum limit on the AC OUT connector is 15A. Other limiting factors include the breaker rating for the AC line you are plugging into, wire type and (if used) generator capacity.

TRx5210AN ALL DSP™ Network Connection
In order to connect the array to a network using the Ethernet ™ connection, use the two ports on the back of each unit to daisy chain the array of TRX5210AN together. Use a CAT5 cable to connect the remaining Ethernet ™ port on the top box in the array to your DHCP router that is then connected to your computer (wired or wireless). You may choose to connect your line array to the subwoofers and then send a single cable to your router.
TRx5210AN ALL DSP™ Control Software
The TRX5210AN line array features control software from ALL DSP™. The software allows the user to create and save presets into the line array. The TRX5210AN ships with 5 factory tuned presets which include Front Fill, 4 Box, 6 Box, 8 Box, and 12 Box presets. We highly suggest using the factory presets when first using the TRx5210AN line array system. For installations, the installer may want to create a tuning preset in the line array. Additionally, for remote monitoring of signal level, unit power ON/OFF, and MUTE please refer to the separate software user guide found on the TRx5210AN product page at carvinaudio.com
ACCESS CONTROL: The TRx5210AN ships with USER ACCESS level to the software. This access allows the user to remotely choose a pre installed preset. To access the ADMIN level of control, from the HARDWARE menu at the top of the screen, select PASSWORD and enter adm1n. This password will open up the PEQ capability and allow the administrator to assign USER access levels and create and store presets. The USER password is u5er.
