1. Unfold the probe from the thermometer body. The display will turn on automatically.

6.3 Using the Lock Function

Press the LOCK/CAL button once to hold the current temperature reading on the display. This is useful when you need to read the temperature from an awkward angle or in a hot environment. Press the button again to release the lock and resume live temperature readings.

The TP15H comes pre-calibrated from the factory. However, over time and with extensive use, recalibration may be necessary to maintain accuracy. You can calibrate the thermometer using an ice-water bath.

1. Fill a large glass with crushed ice and top it off with cold water. Stir the mixture well.
2. Insert the thermometer probe into the ice water, ensuring the tip is fully submerged but not touching the bottom or sides of the glass.
3. Wait for the temperature reading to stabilize. It should read 32°F (0°C).
4. If the reading is not 32°F (0°C), press and hold the LOCK/CAL button for 3 seconds until “CAL” flashes on the display.
5. While “CAL” is flashing, press the LOCK/CAL button again to confirm calibration. The display will return to the current temperature, now calibrated to 32°F (0°C).

Note: If the thermometer is more than ±5°F (±3°C) off from 32°F (0°C) in the ice bath, it may indicate a significant issue, and contacting customer support is recommended.
